Some Interesting Facts
(a) We are one of only 3 manufactures still building our own tables in Canada. Any other table on the market is built outside Canada. And most of those are manufactured in Asia or South America.
(b) We are known as the only table manufacture that can completely customize a table. For example we will match any wood and stain colour to match your home. We can change many specifications on pocket openings, table height, type of pocket or size of balls and more. Because we make a lot of our leather products we can carve any name or family crest into the leather parts. You can design your own table or have a table designed to match your recreation room, providing the design allows us to manufacture the table within the structural requirements. As well as an endless number of personalized touches you can make or change.
(c) On average we build 15 to 18 tables a year. Having a passion for the game as well as a strive for perfection, we take a lot of pride in building every table to last and become a family heirloom. Most large manufacturers build 50 to 150 tables a year, so any cost cutting measures result in a higher profits and a lower quality product.
(d) If you buy a pool table from any other manufacture from the internet or a retail outlet I would say about 50% or less is spent on material and labour and the rest is someone’s profit.
(e) When finding an installer for a new or used table make sure they are experienced as well as they play the game, this ensures the table will be situated properly in the room and the correct markings are on the table.
(f) Just because we offer any level of customizing to any table it doesn’t mean it’s more expensive, it just allows you to make the changes to the table to truly personalize it. Changes like tighter pockets for practice, different routed edge on some of the parts or a personalized finish, this doesn’t always cost more.
(g) "Families that play together stay together" What this means is families with teens that play games such as pool, darts, air hockey, foosball, board games, etc. Families bond together through play and interaction. And many interactive games often build strong social skills and a respect for others. Family members that don’t spend time together often grow apart and develop bad communication skills. Especially in today’s computerized environment, individuals are spending several hours a day in front of computers by them selves. Studies show that more parents are realizing how important family bonding is and dedicating one evening a week for family games. And having a pool table in the house also gives teens a place to hang with their friends instead of finding trouble with the wrong friends. Most kids that are involved in sport programs lead very productive teenager and adult lives. If kids are not into physical sports, by giving them something like playing pool or other hand-eye games can build their confidence as well as concentration levels.
After 14 years of working, building and playing on pool tables of all sizes, makes and models, I think this info is important to anyone thinking of purchasing a pool table.
